Pro Peel Microneedling
At HLD Skin Clinic, we often work with clients who want visible skin
rejuvenation in a way that feels supportive, natural and in keeping with their wider wellbeing.
This client, aged 54, came to the clinic with several common mature skin concerns. Her skin was feeling dry, dull and lacking in plumpness, with fine lines becoming more noticeable. Alongside the natural changes that happen as skin matures, she was also undergoing cancer treatment, including monthly injections, which had placed additional strain on the skin.
A busy lifestyle was also taking its toll, leaving her complexion looking tired and lacklustre.
A key part of the consultation was understanding not only the skin itself, but also how the client wanted to approach treatment. She did not want to go down the Botox route, explaining that because she was
already having regular medical injections, she did not want to put anything else into the body.
Instead, she wanted a results-driven treatment that would improve the quality, texture and vitality of her skin in a more natural way.

Treatment Plan
After assessing the skin and discussing her goals, we created a treatment plan using Dermalogica Pro Peel Micro-needling.
Because the skin was showing some sensitivity, the treatment plan was carefully adapted. Rather than working aggressively, we chose a lower-level peel combined with gentle micro-needling, allowing us to stimulate skin renewal while still respecting the skin barrier.
The client completed a course of three Pro Peel Microneedling treatments.
The Treatment Process
Each session included:
• A thorough professional cleanse to prepare the skin
• Skin preparation to allow even treatment penetration
• Application of a gentle Dermalogica Pro Peel suited to mature and
sensitive skin
• Controlled micro-needling to stimulate collagen production
• Focused treatment on areas showing fine lines, dullness and loss of firmness
• Application of calming and restorative products
• Personalised aftercare advice
The peel helps remove dull surface cells and restore brightness, while
microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin. This
triggers the skin’s natural healing response and encourages collagen
production.
Together, these treatments improve skin texture, plumpness and overall radiance.
Results
Following the course of 3 and after the last treatment the skin looked noticeably
fresher, plumper and more radiant. Lines around the mouth and eyes were reduced in depth and the face look plumped and lifted after only 2 days. The top lip was lifted and the neck skin showed an excellent response
Areas that had looked tired appeared smoother and revitalised, while
the surface of the skin felt softer and more refined. Importantly, the
results still looked natural, with the skin appearing healthier and
more luminous rather than over-treated.

Maintenance and Ongoing Skin Health
Dermalogica professional guidance supports completing a course of treatments followed by maintenance sessions, depending on the condition of the skin and the client’s goals.
Many clients maintain their results with treatments approximately
every 6–8 weeks.
In this case, Pro Peel Micro-needling works beautifully alongside regular CACI treatments, which the client already receives. CACI helps maintain muscle tone, lift and circulation, while microneedling
improves skin texture, plumpness and collagen support.
Together they provide a balanced and effective approach to mature skin care.

Is micro-needling painful?
Most clients describe the sensation as mild and very tolerable. The treatment is adjusted to suit the skin and comfort level, particularly where sensitivity is present.
How long does the skin take to settle?
Most redness settles within 24–48 hours after treatment.
Does the skin bleed during micro-needling?
Very small pinpoint bleeding can occasionally occur, but this is
minimal and controlled during treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal. The skin may appear slightly pink or feel warm
for a short period, similar to mild sun exposure.
When will I see results?
Many clients notice improved glow and smoothness within a few days.
Collagen stimulation continues over several weeks, with the best
results typically seen after completing a course of treatments.
